Help / FAQ

1. How Does Tubidy Operate?

Tubidy is a platform that organizes and indexes videos created by users. When you perform a search, it displays results from videos that have been reviewed and uploaded by users. When you choose to watch a video, it is streamed directly from the original host site to your device, facilitated by our servers. These servers handle the complex task of transcoding (reformatting) the stream in real-time to be compatible with your device and network. Your role is simple: search, watch, and enjoy the service.

2. Can I Store Downloads on My Device?

No, this service is strictly for streaming. For more details, please refer to our <Terms of Use>.

3. Why is the Audio Quality Low?

The audio quality is optimized for a “streaming-only” experience, which we believe is sufficient for this purpose.

4. Is This Service Free?

Yes, Tubidy does not charge for video streaming. However, standard data charges for internet access may apply depending on your mobile carrier.

5. How Can I Watch Videos in Full-Screen?

To view a video in full-screen mode, click on the video link on the playback page. Ensure that your phone’s media player is set to ‘Full screen’ in the settings menu.

6. Why Can’t I Watch Videos on My Device?

Please verify that your device supports video playback. Additionally, check if your mobile carrier has any restrictions on video streaming.

7. What Should I Do If I Get an “XML Parse Error” on My Blackberry?

Ensure that your browser’s emulation mode is set to ‘Firefox’ in the browser options. Alternatively, consider using Opera Mini for an enhanced viewing experience.

8. What If My Device Hangs or Crashes While Playing a Large Video?

This might occur if your device’s memory is full. Go to your browser’s ‘Options’ menu and select ‘Cache Operations’ to clear the cache. If the issue persists, you may need to reset your device.

9. Why Can’t I Watch Large Videos?

Your carrier or connection might have limitations on video size playback. We offer the option to watch videos in 1-minute segments. On the playback page, you can click on Parts 1, 2, 3, etc.

10. Why Do Videos on My Blackberry Only Play for 10 Seconds?

This could be due to the use of the native browser on your device. Try using the media-net browser instead.

11. I Hear Audio but No Video on My Blackberry. What Should I Do?

Check that your browser’s emulation mode is set to ‘Blackberry’. Navigate to [Browser Menu -> Options -> Emulation mode -> Blackberry] to make sure it’s correctly configured.

12. Why Can’t I Watch Videos on My Blackberry 8700?

The Blackberry 8700 series lacks a built-in media player, which is necessary for video playback. You might need to download a third-party media player to watch videos.

13. What Are the Codec/Encoding Details for Tubidy Video and Audio Formats?

  • 3GP Video Regular Quality: 3GPP (H.263/AMRNB)
  • 3GP Video High Quality: 3GPP (MP4/AAC)
  • 3GP Video Parts: 3GPP (H.263/AMRNB)
  • 3GP Video Preview: 3GPP (H.263/AMRNB)
  • MP4 Video: MP4 (H.264/HEv2-AAC)
  • MP4 Audio: MP4 (HEv2-AAC)

14. What Should I Do If MP4 Videos Are Not Working?

MP4 videos on Tubidy use H.264 Baseline Profile Level 3 video and HE-AAC v2 audio encoding. Ensure that your device supports these codecs. Alternatively, you can opt for the 3GP Hi video format, which is compatible with a broader range of devices.

15. Why Don’t All Videos Have MP4 Video and MP4 Audio Versions?

MP4 Video/Audio versions are available only for the most popular videos, as encoding these formats (especially with H264/HEv2-AAC codecs) is a time-intensive process.
